LIFEBOAT Steelbook Cover Unveiled By Masters Of Cinema

Alfred Hitchcock’s Lifeboat is perhaps one of the great director’s least seen pictures. I myself haven’t seen it for a good 10 years but Eureka’s Masters of Cinema label, which really is an absolute joy for film lovers, are releasing it on 23rd April on Blu-ray and DVD (dual format stylee). The film is currently going for a song, well, £17.99 – which is a total bargain – on Amazon.

The label have shown off the limited edition steelbook cover design and it’s a thing of beauty. We haven’t got info on special features yet but as soon as we do, we’ll be reporting on them. The film was written by literary icon John Steinbeck, Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men, and features a group of survivors bobbing around the Atlantic after a Nazi sub torpedos their boat. Drifting in a lifeboat is one of them a bloody Nazi and will they survive the trip? Lifeboat is also of historical interest because it’s the only picture Hitch ever made for Fox studios. True story.

UK Release Date: 23rd April
