Steve Carrell and Keira Knightley teaming up for an Apocalypse Soon road movie seems a bit leftfield but what the hell, right? Seeking a Friend for the End of the World might not be the best title ever but take a look at the teaser trailer for the summer movie. What do we describe this as? Melancholia: The Comedy Version?

Also starring in the film alongside Carrell and Knightley is Patton Oswalt, Rob Heubel, Connie Britton, Gillian Jacobs, Rob Corddry, Adam Brody, Derek Luke, Melanie Lynskey, T.J. Miller, and Melinda Dillon. The film, directed by Lorene Scafaria is set for release in the US on June 22nd. No doubt it’ll have a UK release date some time in the summer, too.

Set in a too-near future, a man searches for a meaningful connection as humanity’s last days are at hand. Can he find his greatest love at the worst possible time? As the respective journeys of Dodge and Penny converge, the two spark to each other and their outlooks – if not the world’s – brighten.
