The man they call RZA has tweeted an image from the forthcoming trailer of The Man with the Iron Fists, the rapper-producer’s directorial debut. It wins on its title alone. The film, produced by Quentin Tarantino and Eli Roth, is due a trailer very soon and this is an entre before the main course. The image features RZA’s character punching somebody and their eye possibly … punched out of its socket. He wasn’t lying about the iron fists, then.

Eli Roth is also on board as co-writer and the cast includes a certain surly Aussie named Russell Crowe. Also joining in for pretend fisticuffs is Lucy Liu, Cung Le, Byron Mann, Grace Huang, Daniel Wu, Jamie Chung and Rick Yune. This has got cult classic potential written all over it. No doubt RZA will be writing the theme tune and singing the theme tune. His soundtrack for Jim Jarmusch’s Ghost Dog was excellent.

Stay alert for the trailer!
