Paramount Pictures have unleashed a couple of trailers for their latest entry in the Paranormal Activity series. We’ve reached the fourth instalment now and things are still getting decidedly paranormal, and with diminishing creative returns. The best innovation the directors came up with – and it was creepy – was those scenes where they tied the camera to an electric fan so those repetitive camera pans back and forth kept audiences on the edge of their seats. You didn’t know what the hell was gonna turn up in the frame.

As I’ve said before: will this be the last one? Or can the studio that gave us Jason Vorhees continue to churn out these flicks until we reach Final Activity: Paranormal Goes To Hell 3D. [Thought I'd run that gag one more time].

Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman’s threequel went back in time to the late 1980s when Kate and her sister were plagued by weird shit and their grandmother turned out to be a witch involved in black magic. Paranormal Activity 4 takes us back to the present day and a new bunch of kill fodder. Kate – or at least demon Kate – makes an appearance.

Paranormal Activity 4 will be released on 19th October in the USA and the UK. So watch the trailer and remember: don’t have nightmares. [I just stole Nick Ross' catchphrase!]
