The writers at Cinemart have a penchant for 1980s action movies and we’re pretty darn excited about the August release of The Expendables 2. The first one was no great shakes but watched with an audience (rather than at home on DVD) its goofy charms were much more apparent. Simon ‘Con Air’ West is helming this sequel and the whole gang is back (bar Mickey Rourke) with some new characters thrown into the lively mix. Arnie and Bruce Willis will also reprise their roles as Howser and Mr. Church. Did you not see the recent trailer in which Arnie rips the door off a Smart car? Genius.

Cinemart is also a great fan of the man we like to call The Stath and sometimes Jay Stay. Will that one stick? Who knows… anyway, a new TV spot has appeared as if by magic online focusing on Van Damme.

The Expendables 2 is released in the UK and USA on 17th August. Please be a superior sequel, please be a superior sequel …

The Expendables are back and this time it’s personal… Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), Lee Christmas (Jason Statham), Yin Yang (Jet Li), Gunnar Jensen (Dolph Lundgren),Toll Road (Randy Couture) and Hale Caesar (Terry Crews) — with newest members Billy the Kid (Liam Hemsworth) and Maggie (Yu Nan) aboard — are reunited when Mr. Church (Bruce Willis) enlists the Expendables to take on a seemingly simple job.
